Telecom operator Tele2 wanted us to create a new mobile service app with the brand's signature 'Fun Rebel' attitude. Aimed at giving customers insights in data usage and service features in a clever and humorous way. Talk to our chatbot, who plays a central role in the app and helps users with all their burning questions. A conversational user interface that gets smarter and more personal with every interaction.
Approach
As the service-app a highly valued and important touch point for its customers, Tele2 wanted to create the most relevant and cool app out there. To make this happen, we reimagined the complete app and made it user centric, able to adapt to customer's changing needs. Our design approach allows us to accommodate for users' feedback and quickly improve the app with each release, proving Tele2 truly understands its customers and learns from their experience.
Fun Rebel
The signature 'Fun rebel' attitude of Tele2 is reflected in every single detail of the app. From a sparkling toggle animation to doughnut graphics indicating your data usage. From bold type and colours to the distinctive tongue-in-cheek tone of voice. Each element of the app differentiates the brand from other telecom providers. Underlining Tele2's 'because we can' mentality, by pushing the envelope of what is perceived as normal and leaving a smile on customers' faces.

Launch Video
To make sure the launch of the new Tele2 app did not go unnoticed, we created a teaser video. It invites users to try out the app's features and - most importantly - introduces them to the chatbot.

Yes, the new Tele2 app offers a traditional navigation. But why browse for the answer you need, if you can ask the app to give it to you? Its conversational user interface actively starts dialogues and helps users with their questions, no matter if they are simple or in-depth. The more you use the self learning chatbot, the smarter it gets.
Constantly evolving
What is new today, is old tomorrow. Therefore we take user feedback very seriously and are constantly improving the app, even if it means going back to the drawing board. So when we learned that some of users did not like bitten doughnuts as a symbol for data usage, we decided to replace them with a new dashboard. While at the same time, considering the option to let users choose their favourite type of interface and bring back the doughnuts for those who crave them.
